Built by hackers, for hackers

About BSidesTLV
“Curiouser and curiouser!"
— Alice
“We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
— The Cheshire Cat
Back in 2009 a group of people like us got tired of being told there wasn't room for them on the big stage so they built their own space and invited everyone. From that single event in Las Vegas to 1,000+ gatherings across 60 countries, BSides became a global movement. Tel Aviv joined in 2018 with our official chapter BSidesTLV.
Nestled inside CyberWeek and AI Week at Tel Aviv University, we're the rabbit hole you find when you follow your curiosity past the main events. Not an alternative, more like the flip side.
BSidesTLV is for the veteran researcher and the first-timer still finding their footing. For red teamers, policy thinkers, builders, breakers, and the wonderfully unclassifiable.
We're a 100% volunteer-run, registered non-profit association. Every penny goes straight back into the community. No exceptions.

Our Manifesto
You are welcome to enter our world.
We didn’t wait for permission to build it. No one handed us the stage and said “now”. We decided to show up. With laptops, questions, and lots of opinions. Sometimes with answers. Usually not. That was fine.
We don't care where you came from. Army, university, self-taught, no background at all, we've heard every version of that story and it has never once told us whether someone is worth talking to.
We've all felt the gatekeeper's eyes on us. That look that asks: who sent you? What's your title? Do you belong here? We know that look. We've all been on the wrong side of it. We built BSidesTLV so that never has to happen here again.
This is our world now. No gatekeepers.
Curious is the only qualification we ever needed. Be honest. If something is broken, say it. If something works, show how. If you know something, share it. If you don't, ask. Nobody here knows everything.
Show up. That's the only rule.
